Acting S.C. House Speaker Jay Lucas is
pushing for ethics reform and quickly. Lucas just got the job from the indicted Bobby Harrell.
Seems like the current ethics system worked in the prosecution of Harrell, without reform.
Seems like the current ethics system worked in the prosecution of Harrell, without reform.
People are without jobs, and kids have
no food. Harvest Hope Food Bank has had to cut service and layoff
staff. Demand for the basic necessities of life are at a high demand, with resources more limited.
But the media, and the Democrats are
constantly hammering Gov. Nikki Haley, claiming ethics violations.
They never really prove anything, but it's a way to attack her.
The Democrats, and their media, can use
ethics to attack the people they cannot beat at the ballot box.
Should Lucas waste time on ethics, right out of the box?
Lucas is already showing a tendency to
be led by the media. That's not a good sign for the would-be House
Speaker.
All legislators should be honest.
Writing new laws to ensnare Republicans
will do NOTHING for families suffering in this miserable Obama
economy.
And making up more ways to indict
legislators is not going to make them more moral. Elect good people,
and let them do their job.
