Democrats in SC bash African-American candidate, but praise white career politician

Green's the fastest runner, but not allowed
to win in a party with a strong history of
racial discrimination.
Cassie Cope, of The State newspaper praises Democrat US Senate candidate Brad Hutto for his work ethic. Hutto is white. Cope says state Sen. Hutto “is a candidate who makes the Democratic Party proud.”
Cope, in a Sunday story, also said Black Democrat Alvin Greene, the 2010 Senate candidate, "embarrassed Democrats by winning their party’s nomination.”
Cope said Greene's Senate candidacy was a “debacle.”
But the white Democrat, Cope says: is “a Georgetown University-educated lawyer....”
In the article, Cope lauded Hutto for his 20 years as a career politician, while bashing Greene because he was "unemployed" at the time he was running for office.
And while Democrats could not wait to get rid of Greene, Cope says: “Even if he loses in November, Hutto could find his way onto future statewide tickets.”
Democrats are "proud" of
White candidate Brad Hutto,
but called Black candidate
Greene, an embarrassment.
Liberals are typically the most color-conscious group in politics, but how often do they express their true feelings about race, then publish it?
It is left to be seen if harsh words for the Black Democrat will have any backlash at the polls. Blacks typically vote for Democrats at a 95% rate, despite very little economic and social change for the rank-and-file Black American. In fact, the Hispanic community has passed African-Americans in numbers and attention, thanks to Democrat politicians needing more special interests to maintain their grip on power, federally.
This is not the first time the subject of rejection of Greene man has surfaced in the Democrat Party.
In 2010, the white Democrat establishment wanted Vic Rawl to win its Senate primary in South Carolina. Democrats were so incensed when voters chose Greene, a protest was filed in an attempt to block the Black candidate's win. It was rejected after state election officials stepped in and ended the attack by a White Democrat on Greene.
Race is also an issue for Democrats in the 2014 Lt. Gov's race. There, a Black candidate is demanding his opponent quit a country club, because no African Americans want to be members. Ironically, the Democrat's White boss - a liberal Democrat, personal injury trial lawyer - is a member of the same club. But the Democrat candidate has no problem with the hypocrisy.
