Sanford, US Rep. of cheating gone bad – the drama of the common never ends

Sanford looks good, but his life seems
 like a sordid mess.
If you're scoring the Sanford imbroglio, you have to give Jenny credit. Claiming he is crazy and needs anger management. That alone would make him need anger management. Stroke of genius on her part.

In 2009, as South Carolina governor, Mark Sanford disappeared. He returned five days later from Argentina to publicly confess an affair with a woman he says he is going to marry. But you know how that perpetual “fiance” claim goes with some people in the South. The live-in only turns into a “fiance” if they are on TV, being arrested or one (the non-fiance) hits the lottery.
Sanford is an example of the kind of Republican the media loves. If you truly embrace family values, the media hold Sanford up as a hypocrite of the GOP.
Anyway: Sanford's wife, and mother of their four sons, Jenny Sanford sued for divorce. It was granted in 2010.
Now, attorneys for Jenny Sanford, in a family court motion last week, are asking a judge to limit Mark Sanford's visitation with his youngest child. Lawyers are also requesting that he undergo psychological tests and take anger management and parenting courses. You have to admit, it is a stroke of genius on Jenny's part. Can you see his face when he gets that letter and reads it?
He, in turn, is calling everybody else crazy.
What is so humorous about the drama is that Mark Sanford always, as a candidate tried to place himself in a class above the common. He was smarter than those around him, he thought. I'm sure many of the people he tried to bully are getting a big laugh as his dirty laundry is being exposed for all to see.
Aside from that: there are men, who have endured divorce, and viscous ex wives, identifying with Mark Sanford. They see her as a mean and vindictive bitter witch.
And there are women, who are members of the First-Wives Club, wanting the courts to burn Mark Sanford a new one.
The best thing we can take from it: The ugliness from cheating on your wife, and children, is a liability that may never stop haunting you.
The idea that you can deliver a punch like Mark Sanford did, and live happily ever after may be a myth. And the fact that a man as preachy as Sanford is enduring such a public embarrassment is sort of a morality play. It certainly would have been cheaper to keep her in his case.
