Is Molly Spearman conceding the Ed Super's race?

Have we totally lost control of our
public schools with the nomination
of  Common Core supporter Molly Spearman?
Is Education Superintendent Candidate Molly Spearman about to concede the Superintendent's race in a Common Core declaration that goes against SC children and parents?
Much is being revealed as The State newspaper implodes after learning Common Core has been ditched by the SC Superintendent of Education Mick Zais.
But the media and the education industry beneficiaries are fighting back.
Spearman, a former admitted Democrat and E.D. of the SC Association of School Administrators, has deep roots in the education industry. She has reportedly contacted Associate Editor Cindi Ross Scoppe of The State newspaper. Scoppe fears that Common Core will be erased from the standards for the state's students.
Spearman, according to Scoppe, wanted to make sure the public knows she is a supporter of Common Core. Sprearman evidently told Scoppe her unwillingness to bash Zais' move to kill Common Core, was an act of civility. She did not want anyone to mistake her lack of an attack on Zais as an endorsement for eradicating Common Core.
Being moved to show her hand, with honesty, could cost Spearman the Ed Superintendent’s post. Spearman bills herself as a Republican. But many Conservative voters will not support her, and would vote for a Democrat, if she is for Common Core.
Spearman's stance for Common Core may force more parents to look for education alternatives.
Just this April, a rally for public charter schools was held at the Statehouse. Thousands of children attend publicly funded, non-traditional charter schools. These children, and their parents love their schools, and the freedom afforded them in a charter school. They are bound to education. Not mandates that feed the pocketbooks and egos of education industry dictators.
The charter school kids are from every social and economic demographic.
A taste of something not under the iron hand of the education industry is intoxicating. Budgets and praise for charter schools are rising, and will continue to rise.
If Molly Spearman is just another version of Inez Tenenbaum or Jim Rex, more deterioration of our public schools will follow. And if Spearman is superintendent, the GOP can be blamed.
Unless the legislature steps in and controls Spearman, the prospects are not bright for public education in South Carolina.

If Spearman, or another Democrat who admits what he is, is the best we can do, our schools are in serious danger.

Is aggressive gay "equality" legitimate or a liberal political power play?

A liberal power play or sincere desire for equality?
The hateful and aggressive nature of the "equality"
movement wreaks of a leftwing politics.
Is the movement to force gay marriage legitimate, or is it a power play by a gaggle of political operatives?
Gay marriage is peddled as a plea for equality, but if you read any social media, the words of its supporters are mean-spirited, arrogant and provocative. So are their actions.
A request for marriage licenses for five homosexual couples was rejected in Greenville County Wednesday. The gay activists are part of something called the “Campaign for Southern Equality's "We Do" project.”
The would-be gay grooms and brides said they expected their requests for marriage licenses to be turned down. Aside from being a willful waste of resources, that is an admission that liberal activism is their goal.
South Carolina has a governor willing to follow the law:
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) said: “This administration will continue to uphold the will of the people. Ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court will decide this issue, and until that time, South Carolina will continue to be governed by the laws of our state.”
On the leftist side, the movement is aggressive, and does not care about the opinions of anyone else.
For a generation, the media has told us gays live in fear of personal harm. We are constantly given stories, some are hoaxes, of homosexual discrimination. So much attention does the gay movement receive, there is legislation for extra protection of homosexuals called “hate crime” laws.
Now homosexuals want the government to change our legal system to define a special, legal documentation for their unions. If enough judges agree, it could change the the law based on their definition.
The truth is: there was nothing, or no one, stopping the five couples in Greenville from having a ceremony to commit themselves to each other. The insistence from these couples for government recognition seems to be all that matters. It wreaks of a Democrat power play.
Most of this belligerent behavior has come after President Barack Obama declared he had evolved, and now thinks government sanctioning of homosexual marriage should be the law.
The movement has been emboldened during the lame-duck term of one of our most liberal, and worst, presidents ever.
After six years of a leftwing Obama Administration, the last thing we need to do is implement more failure in the form of laws for liberals. It may be a good idea for the activists to digest that.

Are bureaucrats attempting coup to place Common Core media-ocracy in power?

Media declares war on the will of the people

On Wednesday an associate editor for The State newspaper went ballistic because the SC Education Superintendent eliminated Common Core as a reference for the writing of state education standards.
SC Ed Superintendent Mick Zais said new standards, that are being written, should not use widely rejected Common Core Standards on which to base the state's curriculum.
Earlier this year, a state law was passed that would eliminate Common Core from use in public schools.
Because of scheduling, the law would not be implemented until the 2015-16 school year.
But Zais reasons, if you are going to eliminate Common Core, why base standards on it now, that must be removed later. So he used his discretion as superintendent to instruct standard writers to produce the new standards, without Common Core, before he leaves office in January.
By not using Common Core, it saves the state from removing Common Core-based standards when it is mandated Common Core be removed.
But today, The State paper’s news staff has taken up Editor Cindi Ross Scoppe's call to war for Common Core. The newspaper sent reporter Jamie Self out to find education board and commission members to say they will ignore Zais' directive.
Common Core supporter and State Board of Education chairman Barry Bolen declares he will not support or consider “any new standards that do not start with a review of Common Core” from “his” board and the Education Oversight Committee.” which also approves standards.
Melanie Barton, executive director of the Education Oversight Committee, agrees with Bolen and said “ Common Core should be the starting point for the standards rewrite.”
Self reports that legislators will do it the way Zais wants. Probably because their constituents are adamantly against Common Core. But she does not disclose who those legislators are, or include any of their comments. They are in effect muted from the discussion.
Some entrenched senators like Senate Education Committee chairman John Courson, R-Richland, said the new law should start with Common Core.
Sen. Wes Hayes, R-York, said “Everything should be on the table for the standard writers.”
Hayes' comment could be interpreted to mean look at Common Core, then dump it, if it is not conducive to the best policy.
Self also reports"Opponents have criticized the standards for not being written in South Carolina.
However, legislative efforts to repeal Common Core failed this year.”
Those are two misleading, if not totally untrue, statements. Common Core has been rejected, by lawmakers, because of the partisan, liberal, race-based and even anti-American sentiment contained in much of its content.
A Common Core essay used at Meadow Glen Middle School in Lexington One challenges the US Constitution, implying the clause that requires a president to be born on American soil, is outdated, and should be amended to include foreign-born citizens.
Another essay indicates that President Abraham Lincoln was not a hero and criticized him, because he did not issue the Emancipation Proclamation until 1863, three years after being elected.
In Maryland a book containing strong graphic sexual content, and depicting an unhealthy sexual relationship was given to students. Parents were not warned about the adult material in it.
Other themes question the reality of the Holocaust and attack “white” people for not voting for President Barack Obama.
Parents in New York, South Dakota, North Carolina, along with those in South Carolina have rallied to eliminate Common Core Standards from public schools.

Some states have repealed Common Core, and others are planning repeal.

Attorney fears retaliation after $1.6 million verdict against Richland's Sheriff Leon Lott

West Columbia attorney Jake Moore
said he fears retaliation after weird
case against Lott's department.
Lexington attorney awarded $1.6 million by jury
West Columbia attorney Kay Paschal was awarded $1.6 million after a claim she was harassed by a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Paschal was also strip searched and charged with a felony that was eventually dismissed.
“We feel like it is a just and proper verdict,” said Jake Moore, Paschal's attorney.
The award was the result of a lawsuit against Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott for malicious prosecution and abuse of process.
Paschal was the common law wife of deceased Forest Acres real estate broker David Wallace. She lived with him for eight years, according to Lexington County court documents. Wallace died at age 88, in February 2011.
When Wallace died, Paschal, who was also an a heir, was named personal representative of his approximately $6 million estate. But Jeffrey and Elizabeth Wallace, David Wallace’s adult children, petitioned the Richland County Probate Court to remove Paschal as representative.
Wallace's children claimed that Paschal improperly bought a Toyota Sienna van for $63,000 in 2010.
David Wallace had suffered a stroke before the purchase of the van that was modified to transport him and his wheelchair.
Richland County Deputy Lt. Heidi Scott, after being contacted by the Wallace children, had Paschal investigated in Lexington County where the van was bought.
An investigation found that Paschal purchased the van, that had Wallace's and Paschal's name on the title, with Wallace’s knowledge.
Scott kept pursuing the case and Paschal was arrested on the day of a probate court hearing in which Paschal was to defend herself in an effort by Wallace’s children to remove her as the estate’s personal representative. Paschal's attorneys said she lost her status as representative,  partly because she did not appear at the hearing. The charge against her was dismissed.
Attorney says $1.6 million award indicates merit of case
Jake Moore is the attorney for West Columbia attorney Kay Paschal.
She was awarded $1.6 million in a case heard in a Lexington County court.
She sued Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott  for malicious prosecution and abuse of process.
The verdict was delivered on July 25, after a five days of testimony. Judge William Keesley oversaw the trial.
The claims were against a deputy, but Lott as a sheriff, in accordance with state law, is responsible for his employees. So he was named in the lawsuit as a defendant.
Moore said it took a jury just over two hours before coming back with the verdict.
He said the strength of the case is evident by the jury's award.
“Lexington County juries are known as conservative,” Moore said. And more likely to side with law enforcement.  But they did not in this case.
“The verdict speaks volumes about the merit of the case,” Moore said.
Moore said the jury believed that Paschal was treated unfairly.
A Lexington County Magistrate later dismissed the forgery and breach of trust charges that led Paschal's arrest. The arrest of Paschal resulted in her suspension as a member of the S.C. Bar Association.
Lexington attorney Pat Frawley represents Lott and Moore said he expects an appeal of the verdict against Lott. But Moore said, because of the procedural pattern during the trial, he does not see grounds for an appeal.
Moore also said he fears retaliation from the Richland County Sheriff's Department directed toward him, his staff and his client.
“I m concerned about the potential of retaliation,” Moore said. He said the verdict against Lott is the second time he was won against him in court.
Moore said he bases his fear that he will face retaliation on the his relationship with the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Moore also said he'd love to sit down and work out a solution with the other side, bu he he “is not overly optimistic of a resolution.”

Mick Zais gets wonderful anti-endorsement for move against Common Core

Pro-Tax, Big Government pundit savages Zais
Zais denounces Common Core and draws
outrage from pro-government columnist

A vicious media attack of outgoing SC Education Superintendent Mick Zais is a sign he did something right.
The State newspapers' Associate Editor Cindi Ross Scoppe has withdrawn her endorsement of Zais because he has forsaken Common Core.
Her column for Wednesday is entitled: “Boy, did I ever misjudge this candidate.”
Scoppe is taking back her 2010 endorsement because of Zais' “mission to purge the state education standards of any vestiges of Common Core.”
Scoppe claims her anger is because it will waste money.
But last week Scoppe was not worried about your money: she decried a tax break for special needs children because taxes are: “what governments charge people for is the cost of living in a free society.”
Scoppe admits her “endorsement” of Zais was lukewarm at best. And it did not matter because the only Democrat The State endorsed lost anyway.
The fact is, if an elected official can make The State newspaper this angry, he did something right.
Scoppe goes on to accuse Zais of following an “extremist ideology” and “pandering to his political base.”
She chides him for not being fixated on poor kids, favoring“private schools.” and against more 4-year-old kindergarten programs.
So many times candidates come to the state's voters, and assure us, pre-election, they will represent us well  once elected.
But too many times these office-holders try to please the media.
The establishment arm of the Republican Party is taking heavy criticism for that right now, when it should be capitalizing on the extensive damage the Democrat Party has done to itself.
There is every reason to believe Zais declined a run at re-election because he did not anticipate the extreme opposition he would receive by trying to make education better in South Carolina. Zais had a plan to serve ALL students, not just those targeted for benefits by the left.
Until we abandon leftist ideology in education, and everything else, it will not improve. Zais likely found he was in a hornet's nest of resistance and decided it is too much of a job to gut education, and start over. But that is the only way to make it better.
The freedom Zais has in not asking for re-election is allowing him to do the right thing. Who cares if he is brutally attacked by the media. Ripping Common Core from our system is the best thing he can do.
By her anger, Scoppe tips the hand of the left. It means Zais got it right. Now it is our job to put pressure on his successor to make sure she follows the same path of Zais.

Tom Ervin using gay issue, trying to elect a Democrat

A third-party, Libertarian
candidate took almost 7% of the
votes in Virginia.  Helping put the
Democrat, Terry McCauliffe in office.
Self-Called "Independent" SC gubernatorial candidate Tom Ervin is nothing more than a Democrat Dirty Trick

It took only a matter of hours before Tom Ervin came out in favor of allowing a Constitutional mandate that redefines marriage to include homosexual couples.
Ervin used the oft-spoken words of the liberals: “Government should not be in the bedroom.”
Without getting into all the fallacies, cliches and ignorance Ervin spouted, let's get to the truth.
Ervin has no chance to become SC's next governor. You know that, I know that, and he knows that.
Tom Ervin is running to put Vincent Sheheen in the governor's mansion.
Ervin is a Democrat who hopes to peel off enough libertarian-type, would-be GOP voters so that Sheheen gets more votes than Haley.
Democrats have rendered themselves so un-electable, especially statewide in South Carolina, a third-party spoiler is their best shot. Tom Ervin is a Democrat Dirty Trick
Virginia elected Terry McCauliffe, one of the most-disgusting Democrats ever, as its governor in 2013. A third-party stooge got almost 7% of the vote in the Virginia race. The Republican lost by 3%.
No matter that it is the worst thing for the people of that state, it worked. And getting power to feed their greed is all Democrats care about.
There is no doubt Haley could be vulnerable in some spots. She has not been as solid a conservative as possible.
But Haley has been rock solid in her rejection of the dangerous and harmful policies of Barack Obama, and the federal Democrats. That has benefited the state.
We do not need to go backward by electing a Democrat. And a vote for Tom Ervin is a vote for Democrat power in South Carolina. We cannot afford any more of that.

Democrat base issues harm their electoral chances

Myrtle Beach was in near riot conditions
after three murders at Bikefest.
Be it the Bikefest murders or rulings against South Carolina by pro-gay marriage judges, the latest news hurts democrats.
The Democrat gubernatorial candidate would likely be better off not having to address some of the issues surfacing.
Gov. Nikki Haley, today, expressed sentiment against violence and lawlessness associated with Bike Week on The Grand Strand.
This year three people were gunned down in the streets during Bikefest. Even the most uninterested Horry County resident loathes the disorder and chaos associated with  Bikefest.
It gives the state a bad name, and makes the ever-diminishing reputation of Myrtle Beach even cheaper, and faster.
The people who live at the ocean would love to wrap Bikefest up in a beach blanket and toss it back to wherever it came from. Haley is on the right side of the vote-rich county, that Vincent Sheheen desperately needs if he is to avoid another loss to Haley.
But there is a problem for Sheheen. Bikefest is a mass party for a majority of Black bikers. If he shows any disapproval for the near anarchy and disarray that is a staple of Bikefest, his base will slap him with an Atlantic hurricane-force tidal surge.
You cannot do the right thing, and stay in the good graces of the Democrat Party. The party puts its race ignorance before all. Breach the party's perverted code of allegiance, at your own peril. Choose what is best for a mass of the voters at your own risk.
And dis-incentivising Black Democrat voters in South Carolina is tantamount to raising a white flag for Sheheen.
Another issue Sheheen could do without is the raging gay-marriage debate.
Homosexual activists and their lobbyists are screaming with joy after a federal district court in Virginia ruled the defense of traditional marriage is unconstitutional, on Monday.
It is an issue, like Bikefest, that pushes Sheheen into a corner.
The unwillingness to redefine marriage in the eyes of the government, based on sexual preference, is shared by 78% of South Carolina's voters.
While liberal-ruling judges may be able to put asunder what God and the electorate will not, the courts' decision will not move the people of this state.
In fact, the federal government bullying us toward something we believe is wrong is likely to only make us less fond of Democrats.
Aside from that, Sheheen has expressed opposition to gay marriage. The gay community, and the people who vote based on them getting their way, are much-needed Democrat voters. When they are not pacified, they are very angry people.
Look at the Mozilla hate campaign and the intolerance with which the gay community intimidated HGTV.
If the gay movement sees Sheheen flinch, how angry will they become? It is another group he cannot afford to be honest with. And if he is not, he alienates the rest of us.
While liberals celebrate strikes against conventional South Carolinians with passion, that momentary rush will not serve them well in the long term.
Liberal victories, attached to disorder and havoc, will only cost their political party wins. And that is especially true in South Carolina.

While you may get a few concessions in the end, don't count on it lasting. The people are wide awake. And more and more are getting tired of being pushed around. As Vincent Sheheen campaigns for governor, he is likely becoming acutely aware of that.

Evolution mandate for public schools is more about political religion than science

Evolution theorists insist that humans cannot be the
most intelligent. And then prove it all by themselves.

Evolution supporters fear its scientific validity being challenged in SC schools.

Biology renders a woman pregnant when she does not want to be. Men, on average, are physically stronger than women. And statistics dictate that only about 1.5 percent of humankind is homosexual.
These are scientific facts that those who favor the teaching of the Evolution Theory have trouble accepting.
Some reject undeniable realities when the evidence is indisputable. So difficult is natural law for some, they will try to overrule scientific facts they don't like.
Man-made Global Warming is an example of blatantly fraudulent science, that is considered gospel by people of a certain mindset. What allows these people to fervently attach themselves to such a weak belief system? It is it their secular-based religion of Liberalism?
Is this faith of Liberalism behind an undying insistence of the teaching of Evolution Theory to public school students?
There is no undisputed proof of the Evolution Theory. Of course certain species adapt and change over time, according to needed characteristics for survival. And: some species don't adapt and become extinct.
But to think we all “evolved” from a single life form is far more speculation that the idea that a Divine Creator is responsible for life.
Of course there is no proof that God created life. But it is far more likely that each creature on earth was created individually. The idea that one life form mutated into a newer and improved version, on down the line, is preposterous.
And if you are pitting the Evolution Theory versus Creationism, at least the creation theory has an historical, real-time document supporting it. It's called The Bible.
Evolution is based on the “what-if” speculation of a Johnny-come-lately. Who knows what motivated it?
Maybe Charles Darwin got into some Galapagos mushrooms, and made some tea with them. And that's where the Theory of Evolution originated. Can you imagine how he must be laughing at us now?
Or perhaps there were some weeds growing in the South Pacific that had the same DNA as that “sinsemilla” that was once all the rage. A species of weed that mutated into Galapagos Ganja.  And Darwin dried it out and rolled it up for a smoke.
Let's be honest: Evolution zealots are not driven by a loyalty to the discipline of science. They are more likely devoted to placing their religion before the belief system of Christians.
Forcing the Evolution Theory on our children is a blatant slap at those who have faith in God, and respect natural law. That is what the Evolution Movement is meant to be.
But Christians do not try to pervert what is fact, in order to divide people for political purposes. We believe in Creation because it is more likely to be true.
Darwin said we all evolved from apes, yet the missing link has never been found.
God says He created us, as individuals, different from all the other creatures of Earth.
Which teaching is self-evident?

Your level of intellectual evolution likely holds your answer.

Is the Gay Marriage issue more like apartheid than equality?

No court or government can force, or
deny, love.  Is Gay Marriage a political
power play similar to apartheid?
A minority of white politicians once held government rule over South Africa. Government power, that whites could not earn at the ballot box, was taken through a system in which the voices of the majority were ignored.
Monday, a three-judge panel at the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond ruled that Virginia's majority-supported Gay Marriage ban is unconstitutional. It is one of several federal court rulings that allows government-sanctioned marriage based on sexual preference.
The courts have overruled Defense-of-Marriage (DOMA) laws despite the fact that a majority of the people have voted that marriage has a traditional definition that has nothing to do with privilege for a politics-based special interest groups.
And using judges to nullify a DOMA is not the only way lobbyists for a small number of political activists are controlling the majority.
In some cases, pro-homosexual-privilege groups have intimidated qualified private-sector professionals, and cost them their their jobs (see Mozilla.) Or activists for the gay community, through bullying, have taken opportunities based on political ideas that are not like theirs (see HGTV.)
By using intimidation, and favorable judges, the homosexual lobby continues to override the will of the people. Why is that not a form of apartheid?
Homosexuals have no more right to demand that marriage be redefined, than does any other special-interest group. But the movement is more about subverting the will of the people than rights.
If the gay marriage movement were about equality, there is nothing to stop homosexuals from marrying now. If you are secure in your love for another person, why should you care if the government sanctions you? Find a minister, and a church, and marry your partner. That has happened over and over in our society, and no one has stopped it.
The government should have no say-so about whether your union is legitimate or not. That should be between you, your partner and whatever forces you respect.
If the government suddenly dissolved its recognition of traditional marriage, the heterosexual population would not revolt in civil disobedience. A majority would likely celebrate getting government out of that part of their lives. To paraphrase Henny Youngman: “Take my marriage, please.”
But the move for homosexual marriage is more about defiance of the will of the majority, and political power, than it is about two people who love each other.
A sacred bond is one that cannot be put asunder, or justified, by outside parties. Not even the government.
But a government dictate that is not backed by the people, is a totally different story.
Using the courts and scare tactics to get what you cannot earn, is a form of apartheid. Aren't the open-minded and progressive thinkers against apartheid?

Court rules against SC ban on homosexual marriage; has anything really changed?

Less than 2% of the population is homosexual.
Yet the attention the gay community demands
 from the media is astronomical.
The three-judge panel at the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond  has ruled the Virginia Gay Marriage ban is unconstitutional.
The ruling evidently applies to South Carolina's ban on homosexual marriage because that court has jurisdiction over South Carolina.
But has anything really change? Homosexuals have been able to get married for decades. There are many "ministers" who will gladly perform the ceremony. The services are held in churches in some cases.
Why does the radical gay lobby lie about its goals? Homosexuals getting married really want to avail themselves to government handouts for those in a gay marriage.
But this country cannot even afford the benefits the government legitimately owes now. And Obama's miserable economy certainly has not made us more able to pay bennies based on sexual preference.
At any rate: go get married. And pray someone cares. Most of us don't. And even we did, it is futile to worry about it. What you do in your bedroom is between you and whoever, or whatever, you worship. I just don't want to give even more taxes to pay for it. After Obamacare, and the loss of household wealth under his presidency, we are broke.

Has Columbia's United Way become too political?

From blood drives to disaster relief, the Red Cross
helps all in need. United Way is going in a different
direction so UW and the Red Cross have parted ways.
The Red Cross Central South Carolina Chapter has cut ties after an 89-year relationship with the United Way of the Midlands.
A Columbia newspaper reported Monday that the Red Cross had withdrawn as a partner agency from United Way.
Anyone who has worked for a large employer has been subjected to United Way's pitch. It is a major coup for United Way to get into companies, and persuade the employees to give, while the boss is watching.
United Way is a deep pockets non-profit, that has a mountain of corporate sponsorship. The money can be spent according to the wishes of United Way's chiefs.
The United Way is distributing funds of  $12,169,276 this year. It gets money from more than 75,000 individuals and more than 800 companies, schools and government offices as a part of UW's fall fundraising drives.
The money goes for 122 safety net programs that make up the UW's Community Care Fund. The fund is supported by unrestricted donations to United Way’s fundraising campaign.
But over the years, if you looked under the hood, to see what the UW has been funding, it seems to go more in-hand with the focus of liberal government planning.
The Red Cross is essential in crisis assistance, especially for victims of a fire. And without the Red Cross overseeing blood bank supplies, where would the state of our healthcare be? Yet Red Cross is not the direction UW wants to go.
In explaining the split with Red Cross, it was reported by The State newspaper: “The United Way has shifted its funding strategy in recent years, and based assistance on a core set of community needs. Those needs include, according to UW, homelessness and financial stability, kindergarten readiness and third-grade reading as well as dental and eye care.
It would seem strange that as Obamacare is the law of the land, why would UW take resources from other help agencies, to do something the federal government is charging us exorbitantly to do?
The same with kindergarten. Kindergarten programs are expanded more each year, with taxpayer money. This year millions were added for kindergarten. And the ages for expanded government assistance keep getting lower for inclusion.
It is possible that UW has gotten too liberal to think Red Cross is one of their concerns. That should be remembered if UW comes to your place of work, and asks for money to be taken from your paycheck.
It may be a better idea to choose your donation, yourself. To donate directly to the Red Cross can do so on line at www.redcross.org.

Hamas uses child deaths for bait, media ignores; coverage is absurd, bizarre

Israel was attacked and is defending itself.
Establishment  media is blaming Israel
for defending itself. Coverage is
becoming absurd in its ignorance.
Below is a report on Hamas hiding missiles in schools. And the major networks fail to report it.
In Columbia and Charleston, daily establishment newspapers are attacking Israel for violence, but are not mentioning it's Hamas who started the fight by firing rockets into the streets of Israel.
Israel is simply defending itself.
The watchdog website Newbusters highlighted the irresponsible and corrupt media coverage.
Newsbusters story text below:
Networks Condemn Attack on U.N. School in Gaza, Ignore Hamas Hiding Rockets in Schools
While all three networks denounced the shelling of a U.N. school in Gaza on Thursday, NBC, ABC and CBS all failed to report on similar U.N. schools in the war-torn territory being used to hide Hamas rockets. As Fox News reported on Tuesday, "The U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said the rockets were found in between two other UNRWA schools that are being used to host 1,500 displaced people."
On Wednesday's Special Report, anchor Bret Baier read a statement from the office of the U.N. Secretary General condemning Hamas for the action. Panelist Charles Krauthammer blasted the international organization: "The U.N. workers, UNRWA, have collaborated with Hamas for years and years. They know that there are missiles in the schools, in the hospitals, in the mosques, and they know what's going to happen. Kids will be killed and that's going to be on television."
Krauthammer also took the media to task: "The U.N. is so committed to the Palestinian cause, and in this case, the Hamas cause, that it doesn't even care about appearances. And after all, who, but you, and a few other outlets, are gonna report it? How many have reported the rockets in the school?" Baier responded: "I don't know. But it's not many, I guarantee you that."

Need a shot of pride, go see America The Movie!

I went to see the movie America, Imagine the world be without her, Sunday. It's playing in Columbia, at the Regal in Harbison.
Go see it and take your children. It is a splendid educational film. It is a push-back to the overwhelming amount of loathing the left has generated against our country.
Dinesh D'Souza on his way to
becoming this country's greatest
documentary creator.
It is written and narrated by Dinesh D'Souza, who chose to come to America from India, in the late 1970s.
If you hate America, or you are immersed in the liberal, pop culture lies that pass for history-teaching today, you will likely seethe at America, The Movie.
If you love the country where you grew up, learned how to love the people who cared to see you through childhood, and help hallow the ground around you, this movie evokes emotion, and at times, will bring you to tears.
America has had bad people before we became a country who owned slaves but our Bill of Rights led to the war that freed them. There were thousands of Black slaver owners, too. One of the black slave owners, with the most slaves, was in South Carolina.
While children were taken in shackles from the slums of London, and brought caged, to work in America.
The movie examines all of it.
Also, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and Fredrick Douglas all respected and quoted from the documents written by those who established this country. Those words are sacred and guarantee freedom, of which we all benefit immensely.
Those facts, among many others, are covered by D'Souza.
Also, America is a country that turned worthless land into profitable, fertile and desirable property because we are entrepreneurs. We don't have a class system. All are created equally, and granted the freedom, by God, and through our founders.
D'Souza totally debunks the myths and lies liberals have perpetuated to turn the working people of this country against their own best interests, in order to empower a corrupt, greedy and selfish band of elites.
Included in the culprits are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Both are disciples of the mafia-trained and Lucifer-respecting Saul Alinnsky.
The admittedly corrupt Alinsky, who died in 1972, is the author of “Rules for Radicals.” A handbook for overtaking America and tearing it down from within.
Alinsky figured out that if he could shame the hard-working and successful into loathing themselves for accomplishment, he could take what they had. His goal was to give wealth to the idle victim and entitlement class, who would not earn it, in order to own them politically.
Ruler of the country is his game, and with the election of Obama, and Hillary waiting in the wings, Alinsky's proteges are realizing his grandiose and absurd dream.
Also exposed in the movie is radical leftwing history revisionist, Howard Zinn, whose books are forced reading college campuses.
The American haters, like Zinn, indict this country as killers, conquering war-mongers and greedy takers. D'Souza soundly demonstrates why none of that is true.
America, The Movie is a much-needed educational film, that should open your eyes to the onslaught of hate and fables concocted by liberals to give themselves a name and feed their lust for evil outcomes.

Does the majority trust the media in South Carolina?

The media continues to push its agenda
on South Carolina, despite rejection
by a majority and electoral losses.
Do South Carolinians trust the establishment media?
People likely trust elected officials more than they trust The State newspaper, or other mass distributed print media.
Today, The State newspaper is complaining that public officials, by a weakening of FOI laws, are keeping people in the dark. And they may have a point.
But does the media realize how bad the media's reputation is? Many in the public see the media's focus as manipulative, or as setting an agenda of the items they deem important.
The media is not seen as an institution to objectively and fairly, inform an audience.
Example: On July 5, The State newspaper ran an overblown story about the danger of bacteria from rain water runoff at a few points on the Grand Strand. Shortly after the loosely sourced story ran, Democrat gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen announced his plan to ensure all the water at Myrtle Beach is clean, should he be elected.
It's to the point that media outrage is meaningless. Media protects its politicians, based on its ideological beliefs. And news coverage is attached to editorial opinion and vice versa.
Another example:
The State's Associate Editor and columnist Cindi Ross Scoppe, on July 23, attacked a tax break, passed by the GOP-Controlled General Assembly. The legislation helps non-public school special needs children with scholarships.
She called the education-funding tax credit a scheme to throw tax dollars at private-schools.
Scoppe decried money leaving the hands of government, and being put under the control of the people.
She said “what governments charge people for is the cost of living in a free society.”
Wow!!!
I bet most of our people are outraged by the arrogance in that statement. The majority would likely see it as out-of-touch with reality. But the media does not get that. If people want true, ethics-driven change, they know it is futile to look toward the media to be an advocate, or a watchdog.
If we want objective redress, we must demand it directly from our elected officials. We cannot depend on the media. The establishment media of today is an impediment to justice and fairness. And the people know that.

Libertarians can only harm our system

With the rejection of Liberalism, Liberal-Tarinas have to keep
their more liberal beliefs out of the public eye.
Curtis E. McLaughlin, 25, is the Libertarian candidate running for the U.S. House District 4 seat in South Carolina.
His key issues - according to The State newspaper - Reduce defense spending and overseas involvement, legalize all drugs at the federal level and get the federal government out of education.
Do you really think no government, is good, o effective, government? Do you not think that has been tried? Are you really a Libertarians?
The Libertarian Party is composed of no-longer engaged fragments of the two established parties.
Some Libertarians are actually "anything-goes" Liberals. Democrats in nature, who have come to the realization that liberalism, in South Carolina, has been exposed for what it is. Liberals are routinely rejected for statewide office, and they know it. These are better defined as Liberal-Tarians, who want a voice, but they do not want to admit who, and what they are. They hope to skim enough of the vote from the GOP, so that Democrats can get an office they have been deemed unfit for.
If you listen to their reasoning, it seems some Libertarians are actually former Republicans, who are so fed up with the media's portrayal of all Republicans, they've quit. They see all Republicans, as the worst Republican because that is what the media wants them to see. They buy into the ignorance-based idea that both parties are the same. They have to believe that the party, that all by itself gave us Obamacare, is also the party that is working to dismantle it. That is just not true.
These once-valuable voters have conceded their voice. They have buried their heads in the sand or they have taken their ball and gone home. These former Republicans have left the mess to the adults to wade through. That's pretty immature and irresponsible. These would-be Republicans are so out-of-touch, they will accept isolationist national security, that emboldens world-domination dictators and religious zealots. And they subscribe to the "turn-on, tune-out "philosophy that Liberal elitists espouse. Liberals, who denounce greed, but want to take government riches for themselves, are not a concern to the Libertarians.
A few Libertarians are linked to the Tea Party movement. They are people who are just frustrated. A few  are so mad that they have gotten no traction pushing nuanced ideas to the masses, they will caucus with anyone who claims to be listening to their "superior" (in their minds) ideology.  The Tea Party Libertarians have not stopped to see what they have to accept, or compromise, for the attention of the Liberal-Tarians.

NYT: American household worth down drastically, Obama not mentioned

The N.Y. Times admits Obama has
failed the American people, economically.
The New York Times admits Obama has been a total failure for Americans on the economy, but they don't blame Obama.
The NYT says: “The inflation-adjusted net worth for the typical household was $87,992 in 2003. Ten years later, it was only $56,335, or a 36 percent decline, according to a study financed by the Russell Sage Foundation.
Another theme of the article attacks the 1 percent, for getting richer. And it decries income inequality.
The Times also takes pains to avoid implicating Obama: it claims: “much of the damage has occurred since the start of the last recession in 2007.” But most Americans began to suffer in late 2008, when Obama was elected. While the previous administration left around the time of a downturn, things have not gotten better in six years of Obama, despite demanding and spending trillions to correct it.
Massive -but disguised - unemployment, partial jobs and salary reduction have been a staple of Obama's tenure. High prices for energy and food are other factors that steal wealth from families. Those have been constant under Obama, but the Times ignores those facts.
The Times goes all the back to 2001, looking for a scapegoat for the income decline that has been TOTALLY under the watch of Barack Obama:
But the Times says: ““The housing bubble basically hid a trend of declining financial wealth at the median that began in 2001,” said Fabian T. Pfeffer, a University of Michigan redistribution professor.
This rewriting of history, and perverting of the truth by media, is how we end up with such a very inept president as Obama. And then he got re-elected despite his obvious incompetence.
The Times also gives Obama supporters talking points when Obama's failure is referenced.

Couple hits Jackpot in Richland County jury award for rear-end bump

A 15-mph bump of a car resulted in a Richland County jury awarding a couple $600,000.
The winners' attorney, Robert Goings, acknowledged that not much damage was done to his clients’ car. The 2010 accident was characterized as a ‘minor’ rear-ender on an I-77 ramp.
Judge Casey Manning heard the case.
The Florida couple, Leonard Carey and Carol Bennett were in their car when they were hit from behind at I-77 and Two Notch Road by a Dyer Inc. van.
The State newspaper of Columbia reported the details.
The driver claimed about $27,000 in medical expenses and the passenger said she had $18,000 in medical bills. Both occupants claimed neck injuries (whiplash?) and one of the plaintiffs was treated at an emergency room.
The case demonstrates that juries may give you exorbitant sums on a whim if you litigate. It's a case of a trial lawyer ready to go for the jackpot, regardless of merit.
It's also shows that people think companies have endless supplies of money, and some don't mind taking it. It's the class-warfare mantra so often perpetuated by politicians.
If you cheer this result, remember it only drives up the price of everything, from insurance to the goods and services  the company stuck, provides.
The case also is reminiscent of the Sanford & Son episode in which Fred was rear-ended by a black Cadillac. Remember Fred saying: “All you lieutenants look alike to me.” and "I'm sittin' on a goldmine."

Media is downright corrupt in its attack on Israel

There are shades of Hitler in the absolute one-sided media assault on Israel.
Hamas and bands of terrorists started shooting rockets into Israel's city streets, a week or so ago.
The terrorists have not, and will not stop. Hamas will listen to no one. They hate Israel and will do anything to kill the county's people. What's new about that?
Since the latest attack began, Israel has done nothing aggressive, it is just defending itself.
Yet a headline in the New York Times reads: "Israel OKs 12-hour lull in offensive"
Israel has always been open to talks about Hamas to stop attacking them, and killing Israeli citizens. If Hamas actually follows a cease fire, that's news.
The Times reports: "Israel agreed to halt its military offensive in Gaza for 12 hours starting Saturday morning amid intense international efforts to seal a broader cease-fire deal and a new explosion of violence in the West Bank, where at least six Palestinians were killed during clashes with Israeli forces."
It's not a military"offensive" on Israel's part. It's a reaction to an attack. It's national defense.
It's not just the Times. TV media and radio is savaging Israel, and portraying the terrorists of Hamas as victims.
The misreporting of the conflict is next to criminal in its bias.

Could '50 Shades' fixation be a sign of issues?

Could 50 Shades lovers be trying
to prove their sexuality?
If you are all caught up in the 50 Shades of Grey hype' could it be because of a personal relationship problem?

The fact that 50 Shades of Grey is so readily celebrated by some in our culture, could a warning to us about the state of relationships.
Pornography, naughty themes, and temptation, triggered by the written word or pictures, are nothing new. They've been around since the beginning.
The Bible is full of stories of lust and an uncontrollable urge to have sex. It's not that creative, or original, as a form of expression.
There are scenes depicted on the walls of the Pyramids in Egypt that are wild and freaky by the standards of any era. It's what people do, and have been doing for a long, long time.
Study the racy frescoes uncovered in Pompeii. Before that city was destroyed about the year 80 AD, its residents were doing anything and everything, with anybody. Same with Rome.
It's all been done before and then some.
The red flag with 50 Shades is public display, and promiscuity, by otherwise respectable people.
But anyone in a sound relationship is not likely to fixate on the 50 Shades book, or the soon-to-be-released movie. So many times, people who have difficulty expressing their sexuality on a personal level, with their mate, must do it publicly.
Do you know a person who refuses to speak to his sister, but lights a candle at a shrine on Tupac's birthday? Or the woman who will not go see her parents, but cries with joy when she gets tickets to the Ellen  show?
Often people rush to profess allegiance to pop culture symbols of sexuality, but are dead to their own true fulfillment.
If you are drooling over the prospect of the 50 Shades movie, it is not a sign of a healthy relationship.
God meant for couples to have a robust sex life. Sexuality is a gift. And it serves as a reward for doing the hard work of perpetuating humanity.
And if you know what you are doing, you will not need 50 Shades. You should be turning your attention to your mate. Do that, and you can likely write your own book, much better than 50 Shades. If you concentrate on who you have, you're not going to be too interested in writing a book about it. You will be fulfilled by your relationship, not the fictional and cheesy union of others portrayed on pages or a on movie screen.

Thomas Ravenel says he already has 10 percent of the voters

Ravenel
A Palmetto State political gossip blog reported Thursday that the campaign of US Sen,. Lindsay Graham is debating on how to handle Thomas Ravenel.
According to FITS News, a consultant-connected blog, a Graham staffer thinks Ravenel is trying to boost ratings for his reality TV show, Southern Charm. FITS' News founder has been linked to Ravenel, by Ravenel, as a campaign consultant.
The consultants, who can get a chunk of Graham's campaign millions, if they go after Ravenel as a serious contender, say Ravenel is really trying to get votes.
Both could be right, but Ravenel has to know the best he can do, is elect Democrat Brad Hutto. And that's likely what he intends to do.
Graham has to hope supporters of the convicted felon are taking Hutto's voters, as much or more than his. He's likely betting the criminal population - and the pop culture crowd - votes D. That's a safe bet.

Anyway, Ravenel is bragging, already. He just sent out this release.

RAVENEL FOR SENATE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RAVENEL: I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT

EDISTO, S.C. - Lowcountry businessman and independent U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Ravenel issued the following statement today regarding polling data released by The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier and several television stations.

"Like John Paul Jones said, 'I have not yet begun to fight,'" Ravenel said. "I'm at ten percent and haven't spent a dime getting my message out.  By contrast Lindsey Graham has spent $5 million getting his message out in the last few months and his approval rating is only 39 percent.  Meanwhile 44 percent disapprove of his performance - a number that's only going to climb as people start realizing that he's serving Washington's interests, not their interests. No one has ever seriously challenged him - he's never had to defend his votes for unnecessary wars, unnecessary government, anti-competitive tax hikes or liberal Supreme Court justices. I'm not only going to hold him accountable for those votes - I'm going to offer people a competing vision for the direction of this country.  They don't have to choose between the warfare state or the welfare state anymore. My campaign is going to give them a real choice."

Ravenel reiterated he is willing to spend "whatever it takes" to highlight the contrast between Graham's left-leaning record and his conservative policies.

Is Obama enforcing his own Quartering Act in South Carolina?

Not enough case workers for neglected SC children.
US Border Patrols are fighting a losing
battle when the president is not
following the law.
Has President Barack Obama fired a shot heard “Round the World.?”

The Administration of President Barack Obama is harboring illegal and unaccompanied alien children in South Carolina.
The Quartering Act of 1765 required that the soldiers from Great Britain be lodged in the homes of Americans. The imposition, and taking of freedom, so incensed Americans it was one of the causes for the Revolutionary War.
Has President Barack Obama fired a shot heard “Round the World?”
The children, from Central America, have been told they can stay if they can get to America. And Obama is helping the human traffickers getting paid to bring them.
A federal report reveals that at least 350 children, who showed up at the US-Mexico border to enter our country illegally, are being harbored in South Carolina.
The children, instead of being sent back to their parents, have been sent to stay with "sponsors" in South Carolina. It was not reported whether or not those "sponsors" have been promised government compensation.
In all, more than 30,000 children have been allowed in illegally, nationwide, through July 7, the US HHS Department is reporting.
The federal government is being very secretive about its activity dealing with the harboring of illegals. SC Gov. Nikki Haley's office said federal officials will not provide requested information to the governors of any of the states that Obama is using for quartering.
Officials on the ground have no idea who is being imported into their states, or where the children are, or  what type of person, has them.
South Carolina welfare industry officials claimed on Tuesday they need hundreds more caseworkers just to service children abused or neglected by SC parents.
No additional care providers were mentioned as guardians of  the children Obama has assigned to us for quartering.

Did Lexington County Council reward Metts' department, knowing he was under investigation?

Former Sheriff James Metts
What did council know, and when did they know it?

Media reports surfaced Thursday that former Lexington County Sheriff James Metts sought financial assistance.
Metts allegedly asked professional law enforcement organizations and members of Lexington County Council for help to pay approaching legal fees.
If that is the case, council members were tipped off that Metts knew he was in trouble.
So the question follows: Did council reward Metts any budget increases for his office, with knowledge that an indictment was likely?
Two council members, Buddy Keisler and Brad Matthews, said they heard Metts had asked council for financial assistance to fund himself. But they were not asked by Metts for legal aid.
So that leaves seven more members who could have been asked for help by Metts.
Tax increases, including those for the sheriff's department, passed by 5-4 votes. In June 2013, the county's budget included a tax increase for the sheriff's department. Keisler voted for that tax increase. Matthews voted against it. Bill Banning, Johnny Jeffcoat, Debbie Summers and Kent Collins, all voted for tax increases in 2013.
Todd Cullum, Jim Kinard and Frank Townsend voted against.
Did council members vote to give Metts more budget money, even though he was under investigation, and they knew it?
All of it is speculation at this point, because exact dates are not known.

But it would not be very responsible of council to give funding to Metts, if he had serious criminal charges imminent, and council members knew.

Was media Push Poll devised to bash GOP legislators?

A ”survey” published by a Charleston newspaper and some television stations, concludes that people “disapprove” of South Carolina's General Assembly.
The GA, (the SC House and Senate) is majority Republican.
By a 45-to-22 percent count, the poll found that most don't like the legislature.
But the South Carolina lawmakers have had some noteworthy successes lately. That may have been reflected in the poll's finding that most respondents said the state is moving in the right direction. Most feel, nationally, we've been moving in the wrong direction for some time.
The General Assembly pulled kick-back funding from homosexual-promoting required reading at the College of Charleston this year.
The legislature also withdrew funding from USC-Upstate for pushing liberal-lifestyle initiatives. After the legislature's action, USC-Upstate dismantled a polarizing and radical Gender Studies Department at the school.
Hopefully the message was sent to other colleges with a penchant for tainting education with leftwing ideology. Legislators signaled they will deal responsibly, from the Statehouse.
The legislature also funded more school choice, and struck a blow of disapproval toward the very unpopular Common Core Standards.
The legislature stands united against the expansion of the wasteful and expensive federal Medicare program in the state. Legislators opposed Obamacare and recently rallied for Voter Integrity (or Voter ID) laws. An assault on sex education, by a liberal lobbying group, was thwarted too.
And there are more.
If the pollsters would have reminded the voters of all of the successes our legislators have perpetuated in representing us, perhaps the poll would have been different. But the media does not inform or educate the public, because the GOP legislature goes against media political doctrine.
Of course, the poll may have been directed toward Obama-phone users only. Those phone phone numbers are the easiest to obtain from the presidential administration that they bear the name of.
If that is the case, the poll results are understandable.
