South Carolina is a home underdog to Georgia. The two teams play at 3:30, Saturday in Columbia.
Head Coach Steve Spurrier is 5-0-1 in his last six games as a home underdog. Georgia Coach Mark Richt is 2-6-1 against the spread against Spurrier at South Carolina.
In 14 of the last 17 meetings of SC vs Ga., neither team has scored has scored more than 20 points. Only once did the number get to 20, in those 14 games.
South Carolina is a six-point underdog. A lower score favors the dog with a higher spread because the lower the spread, the harder it is for one team to jump out way ahead.
But remember, the Gamecocks had an 18-game home win streak before Texas A&M erased that.
At one point SC was a four-point favorite, but the Gamecocks bled a lot of respect because the of the 52-28 thrashing the team took from Texas A&M on opening night.
