Spurrier looks forward to facing Georgia

Johnson is one of the better sources
for accurate Gamecock information
in Columbia media.
During Coach Steve Spurrier's Tuesday press conference for the Georgia, he said the defensive secondary was instrumental with the INTs.
He said the offense did well, for the most part, versus ECU. Although the team needed more TDs not field goals.
Spurrier was very respectful of  Bulldogs running back Todd Gurley.
Said he hopes SC can keep Gurley off the field as much as possible. Said time of possession needed to favor the Gamecocks.
Gurley had15 carries and 198 yards in the season opener against Clemson.
About the Ray Rice wife-beating incident: "Spurrier said he dismissed two players due to hitting a female. Said every team and corporation should have that rule.
Spurrier said he talked to Conner Shaw before he signed to the Browns' practice squad. He said some other teams were coming after Shaw, with interest in signing him to a practice squad.
Brent Johnson of 107.5 The Game radio, is one of the best Gamecock commentators, in an SEC city that has one of the most hostile medias to the home team.
Johnson said after Coach Steve Spurrier's Tuesday press conference for the Georgia game that SC matches up well with the Bulldogs.
Johnson said Spurrier was smiling, seemed upbeat.
He also said the Gamecocks D may have struggled with Texas A&M and ECU because the SC defense did not match up well with the offenses of those teams. Johnson said watch out for Georgia's O-Line vs SC D-Line. He said SC lost a lot (of course) of the D-Line from last year. And the Gamecocks cannot allow Georgia to push them around, and pick up substantial ground yards consistently.
