SC Gov. Nikki Haley has weighed in on the illegal immigration of children at the US border with Mexico.
State Sen. Vincent Sheheen is avoiding comment on the debacle.
The influx of illegal alien children, being pushed into America, has become a political liability. Public opinion is backfiring on pro-illegals President Barack Obama, who faces losing the US Senate in November.
Haley is thankful South Carolina is not being used as a “mass shelter” she implied in a recent letter to a federal official. Haley was responding to a report that illegal immigrant children have been moved to the state.
Pro-Constitution groups, that oppose illegal immigration, have organized Saturday protests in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Florence and Myrtle Beach.
Haley said a mass border crossing of illegal immigrants “highlights the failure of the federal government to” secure our sovereignty as a nation.
Haley chastised federal government officials for leaving our border “dangerously unsecure.”
Haley, a mother of two, also said it “disturbing” that children would be left “to fend for themselves.”
Sheheen, a fellow Democrat of Obama's, was unavailable for comment, according to a media report.
