A former pastor killed himself elf when deputies attempt to serve arrest warrants
Michael Reece Mullis was about to be arrested on child sex charges. He committed suicide on Saturday after deputies arrived at his house to take him into custody.
Mullis shot himself with a .357 magnum pistol, according to a Rowan (NC) Sheriff's Office press release.
He had been charged with multiple sex offenses and warrants had been issued by the Concord Police Department for his arrest. According to WSOC-TV, Mullis was the former pastor at Near Calvary Baptist Church in Concord and the arrest warrants were for taking indecent liberties with a child.
