Will fight for homosexual chief dispel liberal myths about SC?

South Carolina is often characterized as a bigoted, racist and homophobic state.
We have a lot of voters who are Conservative, and we do not fit with what the media considers acceptable.
That is especially true of our politics.
But a small town in South Carolina defended a woman, who happens to be homosexual. The national media is hyper-ventilating with joy over the news. They finally approve of something in the state.
Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore was fired, and one of the reasons Latta's mayor referenced for dismissal, was her openly gay lifestyle.
Regardless of our personal feelings, maybe we don't dwell on sexual habits by homosexuals like the media does.
The fact that Moore is openly gay belies the media charges against states that vote Republican. If we are so homophobic, how could Moore be open about her sexual practices? Shouldn't she be scared, if all the charges against us, and our hostility, are true?
At any rate, the people of Latta went to drastic measures and rejected the presumably heterosexual mayor's action to fire Moore. That supports the idea the perceptions of South Carolinians are myths created by our enemies.
What is at question: Why does the media go out of its way to celebrate Moore's rehire?
Why does a gay citizen warrant more honor than any of our other citizens?
With the hiring of Moore, I wonder if the media has learned a lesson, and realized the bashing of South Carolina is based on fables, created by liberals to attack us?
Don't hold your breath waiting for them to change.
