News Quick Hits, South Carolina, national and international!

Sheheen says he is close!
At a rally in the Edmund Community, in Lexington County, Saturday, Democrat Vincent Sheheen said he is but one or two percentage points from overtaking his opponent, Gov. Nikki Haley.
Columbia famous for tax waste, to spend more!
Columbia is Famously Hot for spending taxpayer money on boondoggles.
A Sunday headline in Columbia’s The State newspaper reads: “Village at River’s Edge: Unfinished site built with $12 million in tax dollars; first plagued by violent crime, then white-collar crime”
The report of the government-funded fiasco comes as Columbia votes to spend $35 million on a baseball stadium, despite the fact Columbia, a USC athletics town, has struggled to maintain much of a minor league presence in its recent history.
Governor's race is dirty, and will get dirtier!
WIS-TV, still surrounded in controversy after firing popular newsman Ben Hoover, is warning of attack ads in South Carolina's governor's race.
WIS says brace yourselves for “a little bit of a replay of the 1988 presidential campaign, where Lee Atwater, who is from South Carolina, developed the very effective Willie Horton campaign ad," said Columbia Democrat strategist Tige Watts.
Democrats must be worried Sheheen has some vulnerabilities. When a legitimate weakness is exposed, Democrats usually throw out the race card to silence a truth they don't like.
The WIS report did say both sides would hit below the belt.
Liberals fear Ginsberg retirement!
There is Speculation about the possible retirement of radically leftist Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The 81-year-old Ginsburg has health problems. Leftwingers are openly worried it could be difficult for the Obama Administration to get an equally activist leftist on the court, especially if the GOP wins back the Senatein November. The people may revolt if Obama tries to put another anti-Constitutional judge on the US Supreme Court.
Israel under attack!
As Israel is under attack from terrorist missiles, thousands of anti-Israel activists protested in London and Paris Saturday.
Pro-Palestinian speakers chanted anti-Israel slogans.
During the protest, one woman on a podium shouted “from the river to the sea” — a call for the elimination of Israel — and protesters responded by yelling “Palestine will be free.”
Sadly, Jewish people the US vote for Democrat candidates, at an alarming rate, despite the tendency of Democratsto side with terrorist nations that hate Israel.
How much longer will the Jewish people support candidates, who side with people who want them eradicated?  Are eager for college football in Columbia?
