Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin faces liberal wrath for favoring illegals over homeless

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin issued a dictate asking illegal immigrant children, who had been jettisoned by their parents, to come to Columbia. 

Since Benjamin's beckon to the illegals, three weeks ago, a media report says that some illegals have come.

But in his haste to back liberal illegal immigration policy, it looks like Benjamin has offended some constituents who were already in line for his generous taxpayer largess.

The left-wing weekly newspaper Free Time asks: "Now that the refugee children have been welcomed, one is left to wonder: Will the homeless residents of the city also find refuge under those wings?”

Free Times reporter Chris Trainor penned the article. He (or she) says : “But there are lingering questions about the city’s role in addressing homelessness, particularly since the 24-hour shelter on Calhoun Avenue — commonly referred to as the winter shelter — closed in early July.”

Perhaps one of the most difficult truisms for liberals to accept is that a miserable economy sinks ALL BOATS. The guy who hands out $5 bucks to a homeless man, is a lot more likely to do that in a booming Bush economy than he would in this scrape-by existence so many are suffering under the rule of Barack Obama.

Free Times is concerned, as we all should be, that there will not be any shelter for hundreds of Columbia homeless, when winter comes.

And while Benjamin is open-arms for illegal aliens, that President Barack Obama called Dream Children, or the children of our future, that level of love is not present for our native-born homeless.

When asked directly whether the city plans to continue to open the 24-hour winter shelter, as it has been doing in recent years, Benjamin replied “No. .....the mayor’s position is ‘No, absolutely not.”

But he can find room for aliens. 

Liberalism always seems to collapse on itself. It's about the only way it's stopped. But it's very seldom we are told exactly what is going on, when liberals devour liberals.
