State newspaper's top stories - with commentary (Aug. 9)

Go Leeza
• Reagan aide Jim Brady's death ruled homicide - Liberals are scoffing at the idea John Hinckley will be prosecuted. Hinckley is considered a "Political Prisoner" by leftists.
• Unique student living brings life to key ‘hub’ of Columbia revival- The city of Columbia profits wildly by government spending, and the traffic it attracts. But the city is managed poorly by an untouchable Democrat mayor.
• Leeza Gibbons hopes to give new life to landmark Mungo home in St. Andrews area. Good for Leeza.
• Former Hilton Head hospital executive pleads guilty to kickback scheme. Wonder why Big Medical (large local hospitals) wanted Medicaid expanded in SC. They know they'll get riches untold as a part of the $11 billion Obama promised to expand the roles of high-risk no-pay patients.
• Wet start does not dampen excitement at Dixie Youth World Series - Kudos to Lexington for landing such a BIG event. Should produce millions for the local economy.
• USC president to make $1 million-plus in 2017 - Yet USC has a "Diversity" officer, whose job would be better defined as Race-Quota-Czar.
• Judge rules against NCAA in O'Bannon case - Players likely to get paid, so expect the big programs to get bigger, but what will Charleston Southern or Coastal do if they cannot afford to pay players?
