Liberals, like the slick trial lawyer Roger Simon, call Hinckley a political prisoner because Simon is a Democrat, and Reagan was a Republican, hated by the left. |
According The New York Times, on March 30, 1981 at “2:25 p.m., as President Ronald Reagan walked to his (car) after delivering a speech at the Washington Hilton, (John) Hinckley fired six shots with a .22-caliber pistol that wounded four people and cast him, forever, as an American pariah.
One bullet lodged inches from Reagan's heart. Another struck his press secretary, James Brady, and ravaged his brain."
But is Hinckley really an outcast, or an undesirable?
“Fifteen months after the shooting, at the end of a seven-week trial,” The New York Times says, “a jury in Washington rendered its verdict on John Hinckley: not guilty by reason of insanity.”
And Hinckley is something as a cause to support for some.
Following Hinckley's assignment to a facility for the mentally ill, Liberal syndicated writer Roger Simon calls Hinckely “a political prisoner.” And Simon lobbied for Hinckley's freedom in an article entitled: “Time to Let John Hinckley Go?”
This week's death of Brady has been ruled a homicide. An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a gunshot wound, fired by Hinckley, and its health consequences.
Hinckley should be dragged back into court and tried again, and locked up for what he so heartlessly did.
Federal prosecutors are reviewing the ruling, but Reagan was a Republican, and we now have the most-political “Justice” department in memorable history.
Law professor Barry Levine, who helped Hinckley get the "not guilty" verdict, said bringing new charges against Hinckley “will mean nothing.
“The notion that this could be a successful prosecution is far-fetched.”
Brady endured years of health issues and several operations since 1981. He never regained normal use of his limbs and was in a wheelchair most of the time.
As his life ends, the man who ended it needs to be held accountable for what he did, not set free just beacuse a gaggle of liberal elitists and Reagan-haters think so.
