Ravenel sides with Democrats against Israel

Possible “Independent” U.S. Senate candidate (and would-be spoiler) Thomas Ravenel likely hopes to skim off enough GOP votes, to elect Democrat Brad Hutto. But he released a decidedly liberal statement Monday.
Despite the fact Israel has only tried to defend itself against attacks from Hamas - a terrorist group - Democrats have slammed Israel. The left blames the U.S. for helping out our ally.
Ravenel showed in a release (below) that he is on the side of Democrats.
Did he poll over the weekend and find that he can claim some ground with this issue?
Many anti-Christian activists on the left are quick to work against Israel. Christians and the Jews worship the same God. And Jesus was Jewish.
Ravenel is a convicted felon, and lives a morally-challenged life that is depicted on the cable TV reality show, Southern Charm. Perhaps that is why he harbors resentment for things of God.

RAVENEL: NO MORE AID TO ISRAEL

Edisto, S.C. – Lowcountry businessman and U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Ravenel today called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Senator Lindsey Graham to “check themselves" as it relates to their increasingly strident rhetoric at the expense of U.S. taxpayers.
“Reckless fear-mongering and angry finger-wagging are signs of weakness,” Ravenel said.  “Strong leaders don’t speak that way – they don’t have to.”
Ravenel said he supports Israel’s right to defend itself, but called for an immediate end to all U.S. foreign aid in the Middle East – part of a global recalibration of American resources.
“We have no more business subsidizing Israel’s war machine than we have subsidizing radical jihadists in Syria or defending wealthy European nations who refuse to defend themselves,” Ravenel said.  “Just as America’s tax dollars shouldn’t be used to pick winners and losers in our domestic economy, we shouldn’t pick winners and losers in wars being fought halfway around the globe.”
Ravenel said Graham and Netanyahu know public opinion is turning against them, which is why they are becoming more bellicose in their remarks.
“Lindsey Graham and Benjamin Netanyahu love to talk tough with other people’s money,” Ravenel added.  “Lindsey Graham just pledged to Israel that America will ‘stand with you on the battlefield,’ while Netanyahu was busy telling our leaders ‘not to ever second guess’ him.  Who do they think they are making such commitments and dictating such terms like that to tapped-out American taxpayers?”
“Lindsey Graham isn’t standing with anyone on the battlefield,” Ravenel continued. “He’s already been caught once lying about his military service, so he’s the last person who needs to use that analogy.  And as for Netanyahu, it’s been nearly 20 years since he told the U.S. Congress that Israel didn’t need our aid anymore – yet he’s still drawing down more than $3 billion a year from our taxpayers.  In fact just this week Congress approved another $225 million in emergency aid.”
“Enough is enough,” Ravenel said. “It is not America’s job to subsidize Israel’s war or the terrorist groups fighting in Syria and other Middle Eastern nations – which is why I will vote to eliminate these costly subsidies and put that money to work in the American economy.”

"Israel can and should defend itself - with its own money," Ravenel added.
